Bonifay Down Home Street Festival (March)
Three women, who had traveled across the United States visiting small town festivals, enjoying good wholesome food and entertainment with family and friends, decided they wanted to bring that atmosphere of unity within a community to their own hometown of Bonifay, Florida.
These women envisioned their hometown enjoying a day of play as one big family. They would endeavor to join families, co-workers, businesses, churches and community leaders together for one day each year to celebrate “community”. This enterprise would create a tremendous sense of community pride and demonstrate to others just what Bonifay has to offer.
The festival would prove to those already living in Bonifay just how blessed they are to live in the community and how proud they are to share that sense of pride with others.
By offering hometown folks the opportunity to display their community in a positive venue the women knew that guest would be drawn to the area bringing with them business possibilities to local businesses and organizations.
Three local women had a vision; and the Bonifay Street Festival was born.
